MAKING SOLAR POWER AFFORDABLE FOR ALL
State and Federal incentives can equal up to 50% or more of the total installed system cost.
SOLAR NET METERING IN NEW YORK
Your solar panels will often produce more electricity than you need, but thanks to New York’s net metering policy, you will be able to sell this back to the grid in exchange for credits on your utility bill. When you need more electricity than your panels are producing, you can use those credits instead of buying electricity from your utility.
VALUE STACK
Commercial solar installations in New York State are compensated monetarily for their solar generation. Based on variety of factors (location, demand reduction, system size and environmental benefits) every kilowatt hour of production is fed onto the grid and the business receives a monetary credit to reduce their monthly electric costs.
NYSERDA GRANT
Attractive upfront incentives from New York State can help you go solar. Solar Liberty will apply for, and process, an upfront grant from NYSERDA. The amount of the grant is determined by system size. See the current incentive rate with the NYSERDA Megawatt Block Dashboard for your region.
FEDERAL TAX INCENTIVES
Federal Solar Tax Credits for 30% of the installation cost is applicable to all solar installations. There is accelerated depreciation for commercial applications that can assist in moving to clean, renewable energy.
NEW YORK STATE TAX INCENTIVES
NYS has the Claim for Solar Energy System Equipment Credit for residential installations. This tax credit is 25% of the installation cost and is capped at $5,000.
As per NY Sun, and our standard operating procedure, we advise each customer talks with their tax professional.
