WATERLOO, New York, — SelectEuroCars, Inc., an automobile dealer specializing in Volkswagen and Audi vehicles, has joined the effort to protect the environment by investing in a 47.5kW solar array at their business location in Waterloo, New York. SelectEuroCars, Inc. will be utilizing a 228 solar panel system, to power their facility.
Solar Liberty, New York State’s largest solar power installation company was contracted to manage the planning, design, and construction of the project. The installation of the solar array is expected to save SelectEuroCars, Inc. $1,793 per year in electrical costs, offsetting 100% of the businesses’ electrical usage. By supporting solar, the automotive dealer is setting an example that other companies can follow. The solar panels will help move the community towards a clean energy future by protecting the environment frompolluting power sources.
The investment is a big step for SelectEuroCars, Inc., in committing to sustainability in the community. The solar array will help to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, preventing 34.5 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The effect of the solar array will be equivalent to taking 7.3 passenger vehicles off the road, or preventing 12.4 tons of waste from being sent to a landfill.
