Solarize Program Offers Limited-Time Discounts to Local Residents; Kick-Off Event to Take Place on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11 am
The City of Lockport is leading Niagara County’s first Solarize Campaign. Solarize is a program that makes investing in solar power easier and more affordable for local residents and businesses.
The Solarize Lockport program will kick off with a launch event on June 21st at 11 am at Lockport City Hall where residents and business owners can come to meet the installers and learn about how the program works.
NYSERDA makes implementing solar easier and more affordable by supporting locally-organized community outreach aimed at getting a critical mass of area homes and businesses to install solar and obtain competitive pricing, thereby lowering the cost. Historically, Solarize campaigns lower the cost of solar up to 20 percent from the current market rate for solar.
After a thorough pre-qualification process, Solarize Lockport has selected Solar Liberty as the designated solar installer for Solarize Lockport. Residents and businesses who sign up for free solar evaluations from Solar Liberty by October 12, 2018 will be able to take advantage of group rates below market prices. Solar Liberty is also offering additional discounts for our veteran community.
Solarize Lockport is supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under the NY-Sun initiative. NY-Sun has awarded the City of Lockport $5,000 to support the Solarize Lockport through the Summer of 2018!
Solarize Lockport will officially kick off on June 21st, 2018. Residents and businesses owners who are interested in learning more about Solarize Lockport are urged to attend the launch event at City Hall.
